I don’t know about you, but often when it’s time for a “meal” I don’t necessarily feel like eating. Tonight was one of those nights. Jack and I had a big lunch, so I felt O.K. making something small for dinner. Pizza pinwheels are normally more of an appetizer, but i decided that they would be our meal tonight. They’re very easy and quick to make.
All you need for pizza pinwheels are a can of crescent rolls, some pepperoni (I had mini pepperoni tonight), some mozzarella cheese and some marinara or pizza sauce.
Open the can of crescent rolls and separate them into four rectangles. Press the seams together so they hold well. Place pepperoni on top of the rolls, either four rows if you’re using regular sized pepperoni or six rows if you’re using mini. Sprinkle with cheese. Roll up and seal end so it holds filling. Cut each roll into either four or six pieced, depending on how big you want your finished snacks to be. I cut mine into six tonight. You can also roll from the narrow end if you wish and your appetizers will be bigger around. Bake at 350º for approximately 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with warm marinara or pizza sauce. Enjoy!
