I was lucky enough to get to spend the day at home today and couldn’t help but smile when I opened our curtains and saw this beautiful sunrise with Mt. Pisgah in the background. There are a few minutes in the morning when the sun starts rising over Pike’s Peak and the whole sky lights up with pinks, oranges, yellows and blues. It doesn’t last very long, so if you aren’t looking at the right time you’ll miss it completely. Five minutes one way or another and it will be either too early or too late. It seems that life is like that, too. It’s amazing how many things would be different in our life if we were five minutes early or five minutes late for something. I’m always grateful for being in the right place at the right time to observe all of the wonderful things I see in nature. I’m also grateful for being in the right place at the right time to help people who need a smile, a kind word, or someone to listen to them, and to meet people who bring unexpected joy to my life.
